What is personal data

To provide our services, we sometimes receive personal information directly from our customers. We may also obtain limited information from trusted third parties, such as public records, social networks, messaging platforms, or analytics and marketing partners.

When performing pick-up or delivery services, we may collect information about the physical location involved for example, GPS coordinates, geolocation data, or site images that help confirm delivery or collection points.

In addition, when you visit our website, engage with our chatbot, communicate with Hippocampus Logistics B.V. via third-party platforms (such as messaging or communication tools), or use Hippocampus Logistics B.V.-related features, widgets, or plug-ins, certain information may be collected automatically through technologies like cookies.

We also use third-party analytics tools that collect information about visitor traffic on our websites. What are the purposes of and the legal basis for the processing of personal data?

Visiting our website

Hippocampus Logistics B.V. is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals who visit and use our websites. The information typically includes the shippers and receivers names and addresses, a description of the goods, the number of packages, and the weight and value of the shipment. The processing of this data is generally based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, as it is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are a party.

Processing for advertising purposes

If you are an existing customer, we may process your personal data (such as your name and contact details) to inform you about updates, offers, products, or services that may be relevant to you. In the absence of a separate consent, your email address will be used solely to provide information related to our own products and services. The legal basis for this processing is Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as the processing of customer data for direct marketing purposes is considered to be carried out on the basis of a legitimate interest.

Use of Cookies

[2] Performance: These cookies collect information about how visitors use a website, for instance which pages visitors go to most often. These cookies dont collect information that identifies a visitor. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. It is only used to improve how a website works.

[3] Functionality: These cookies allow the website to remember choices you make and provide enhanced, more personal features.  Information these cookies collect may be anonymized and they cannot track your browsing activity on other websites.

[4]  Advertising: These cookies are used to deliver adverts more relevant to you and your interests. They are also used to limit the number of times you see an advertisement as well as helping measure the effectiveness of an advertising campaign. They are usually placed by advertising networks with the website operators permission.

Access, Deletion, Correction, and Other Individual Rights
